Dear Friends

There are many ways in which our little church tries to care for as many people as we can. Our loaves and fishes project provide food parcels to congregants in need, and we provide ready-cooked meals to folk who need them. We feed 70 children every day at Intyatyambo and the WA is looking forward to the party they are throwing for them on 7 December in the park up the road.

We support St Anne's, a home for abused women, to the tune of R1 000 per month, as well as Kairos, which is a ministry which reaches out to prisoners with the gospel. We encourage folk to support The Haven Night Shelter through their 'passports' programme.

Our Christmas collection always goes to two Methodist Children's Homes: Marsh Memorial Home and to Heatherdale, and our WA supports 'their' child at Marsh Memorial Home with birthday and Christmas gifts. Next year we plan to provide 600 meals a month to poor elderly folk through the Stop Hunger Now campaign, but this Christmas we have another plan, too.

Ons Plek, a Methodist initiative, is a home for runaway girls. These girls are rescued, given any bridging education they might need, taken to school when they can, and the aim of the project is to re-integrate these girls back into safe homes in the community of origin. We thought we would like to provide them with the toiletries from their wish list for Christmas, which we will give to them at their Christmas party. On 27th November at 10 am Panyin will be packing the parcels for the girls. If you would like to help him to make cards for the girls perhaps you might like to join him at the manse?

In Christ's Service
Debbie
